The global cable tray industry is undergoing a wave of technological advancement, driven by dual innovations in materials and manufacturing processes, propelling the sector toward high-quality development. The industrial application of zinc-aluminum-magnesium (ZAM) materials stands as the most prominent trend. Following the introduction of ZAM and POSMAC products by Japanese firms like Nisshin Steel and South Korean companies such as POSCO, domestic R&D efforts have accelerated. This has broken the previous reliance on imports, driven down product prices, and accelerated the replacement of traditional galvanized steel and certain stainless steel markets.

Green manufacturing technologies are permeating all production stages. Hot-dip galvanizing lines now widely adopt enclosed zinc dust recovery systems, boosting zinc utilization rates from the traditional 80% to over 95%. The introduction of low-temperature immersion coating in ZAM production reduces immersion temperatures from above 600°C to around 550°C, lowering energy consumption per ton of product by 12%. Simultaneously, breakthroughs in recyclable coating technology have elevated the metal substrate recovery rate of discarded cable trays to 98%, reducing solid waste pollution.

Intelligent upgrades have emerged as a new competitive focus. Some high-end cable tray products incorporate fiber optic grating sensors, enabling real-time monitoring of strain (accuracy ±1με) and temperature (accuracy ±0.1℃). With a warning accuracy rate of 92%, this technology ensures safe cable operation in smart campuses and data centers. On the production side, digital twin technology enables online detection and automatic adjustment of coating thickness and surface quality, boosting product qualification rates from 92% to 99%.

Refined industry standards further guide development by establishing clear metrics for coating composition and corrosion resistance grades of zinc-aluminum-magnesium cable trays, driving product quality standardization. Moving forward, cable trays combining corrosion resistance, eco-friendly attributes, and intelligent functionality will become mainstream, delivering superior supporting services for new energy and new infrastructure sectors.
